Pointe-Verte is a peaceful village just north of Petit-Rocher. This warm Acadian community is the perfect spot for vacationers and nature enthusiasts. Even if you're visiting the region and staying in another municipality, you're only a few minutes away from a breath of fresh air...so be sure to put Pointe-Verte on your to-do list!
Located between Beresford and Petit-Rocher is the quaint little village of Nigadoo.
Within just 2 kilometres, Nigadoo offers a wide variety of services to tourists and locals alike. Simply put, Nigadoo is the perfect place to be if you want to dial back and take it easy.
Here are 9 of our favourite things to do in Pointe-Verte and Nigadoo this summer!
You look like you’re the kind of person who likes following rules. Well, here’s the thing about the Gîte Toutes Saison: there are exactly 4 house rules.
Sounds like a great way to spend your vacation, doesn't it?
Located in the heart of Pointe-Verte, the wharf is a wonderful place to relax while admiring the sea and the distant mountains of Gaspésie. Especially perfect on a beautiful sunny day, you can easily walk, drive or bike there and enjoy your lunch at a picnic table. In June, you can even meet local lobster fishermen as they return from their daily fishing trip!
We hope you packed your hiking shoes! The Chaleur Green Trails is a non-profit organization aiming to build and maintain "greenway" trails and infrastructures in the Chaleur region. In Pointe-Verte, you'll find a diverse network of great walking trails located around the Atlas Park area. Visit www.sentiersvertschaleurgreentrails.ca for more information!
Atlas Park is built around a flooded rock quarry and provides an excellent SCUBA diving environment. The depth of the quarry extends down to 80ft, with items like sunken boats and an underwater training platform to spice things up. Atlas Park is the ideal location to receive an open water Discover Scuba course, to receive your basic Open Water level certification or even Rescue Diver certification. Contact COJO Diving for more information about diving at Atlas Park!

La Barque is a non-profit cooperative whose mission is to share spaces, tools and knowledge with the entire Chaleur region. You'll find a cozy bookstore, "Bouquinerie d'Arielle", loaded with books, CDs, DVDs, LPs and cassettes for the collectors and treasure hunters. At their boutique -- "The Dock Shop" -- you'll find delightful local wooden creations such as tables, breadboards, mirrors, toys and other products made by local volunteers. Year-round, La Barque is a real treasure trove of art, creativity and fun activities for everyone.
You might be going to Camping Haché because of its amazing full-service RV accommodations -- with over 155 spaces -- or maybe for a few days of camping...but that's not where it ends.
On top of the lodging, Camping Haché offers an impressive lineup of family-friendly activities throughout the season, including music, sandbag and washer-toss leagues, bingo, lip sync battles and even Christmas in July!
For all the photographers out there and everyone else who enjoys a beautiful day, the Parc du Vieux Moulin is located along the banks of the Nigadoo River.
Not only is it a great spot to relax, swim and soak in the natural beauty of the area, but you'll also have plenty of great shutterbug opportunities with the river and the intriguing remains of a beautiful 19th-century mill.
Looking for a quiet place to take a break or have a coffee?
Admire the Bay of Chaleur at Nigadoo's new belvedere located at the end of rue du Moulin.
As if this wasn't already the perfect spot for a picnic, you can even observe the fishing boats at work as well as the beautiful shoreline thanks to the panoramic binoculars located on-site.
Heads up to all the shutterbugs: the sunrise here is breathtaking.
